Internship Checklist

Within Career Services we meet frequently with students about the graduate school application process. Additionally, Career Services strongly encourages students to seek faculty advice about graduate programs that may be a good fit for the student's academic and career needs. Please help inform students about the graduate testing resources described below.
Graduate Test Practice Program
We offer the latest LSAT and GRE test preparation software for students. These software programs offer actual computer-adaptive tests as well as numerous test taking tips. This software is available on the student computers in the Career Services office.
Kaplan's Test Drive Program
Through a partnership with Kaplans, students have the opportunity to come into Career Services to take an actual paper-based practice test of the MCAT, GRE, LSAT, GMAT, or DAT. When students complete the practice test we send the test in for scoring and students are notified of their results via mail.
Presentations
The Career Services staff is always excited about the opportunity to come into your classroom or to have a class visit with us in the Career Services office. If you have a scheduling conflict that prevents you from teaching, contact our office and we can come in and fill your time slot. There are a number of workshops that we can tailor to meet the needs of your class. The following list is just a few of the many workshops we offer in Career Services.
Interview Skills
This workshop will help students prepare and present themselves for that internship interview, job interview, or an interview for medical school or graduate school admissions.
Career Assessment Workshop
The Strong Interest Inventory and the MBTI are two assessment tools that the Career Services office may use individually with students. We also welcome the chance to do group workshops that incorporate assessment pieces as well.
Food 'N Careers Series
"What can I do with a Major in _______ ?" A familiar phrase spoken from the mouths of college students. This workshop is a great opportunity for students to interact with a panel of professionals from a particular field in a comfortable and intimate setting. "Lunch with Lawyers" is an example of one of our Food 'N Careers series workshops.
Networking
The effectiveness of networking and informational interviewing is a career exploration and job search technique that is unmatched. Career Services hopes every student will learn how to develop their ability to build relationships with people. The networking workshop is a great way to start this learning process.
Career Resource Library
The Career Services Resource Library has an impressive number (over 600 and growing) of diverse library resources that canassist students who are exploring career alternatives, job searching, selecting and applying to graduate/professional schools, relocating, studying abroad, or are adventure travel/volunteer experience.
"Coe fosters the idea of individualism. Both professors and students see each of us as an individual and truly appreciate us for it."
